China Trip

The SMOG in China was everywhere, which is why most of the outdoor photos have that grayish look in the background.  (You should’ve seen them before I Photoshopped ’em!)  It didn't seem to matter where we were, Beijing, Wuhan, Xi’an, along the Yangtze, where-ever.  The place we visited where the air was clearest was Shanghai, but still not great.  Not only is coal the major source of energy in China, China consumes more coal than any other country.  We were told the air quality was being worked-on, and that “in 5 years it will be clear.”  I assume they were referring to China’s Twelfth Five-Year Plan.  Let me know how that works out, because I doubt I'll go back to check for myself.
