Sometimes I think I have too much time on my hands ...

Get better sound from your Mobile Ham Radio.  Those tiny speakers in some mobile rigs just can't cut it in the mobile environment, and who wants a clunky old separate speaker kicking around in your front seat area, ripping your pants (or your shins) to pieces?  Besides, they really don't sound that much better anyway!  Sometimes I want to use a hand-held rig in the car too.  But the speaker in my hand-held units is almost never adequate in the noisy environment of an automobile.  Some years ago, I purchased a pair of 3” wide-range speakers that were a perfect fit in some un-used speaker mounts in my Olds 98.  I connected them to my VHF rig, and I liked the way these speakers sounded so much that when I got rid of the car I kept them.  Here’s a few more of my solutions to the problem.

Are your automobile’s headlights leaving you in the dark?  I recently discovered a technology in incandescent lighting called “Halogen Infrared Reflecting”, or HIR for short.

Need to weatherproof an indoor webcam for use outdoors?  I recently purchased a wireless internet webcam.

One day my wife announced that it was time for us to get one of those large TV projectors.  You could’ve knocked me over with a feather!  I mean, this thing wasn’t even on my radar!

Are you a “Do-It-Yourselfer” too?  Here’s a Tool Glossary to help you understand what various tools are used for.

These are just a few of my projects.  Some of them may be helpful, others simply entertaining.  I’ll add to the list from time-to-time, so come back and visit again.  You never know what you’ll find.  If you should run across any “broken” links, please let me know, and I’ll try to fix ’em.  If you have a favorite you would like to see here, let me know about that, too.

that would suffice.  ~Meister Eckhart
